THE LORD HAS PROVIDED THE CHURCH HER MISSION

The Mission of the Lord's Church, at its core, has four primary elements:

1. We, as a congregation and individually, are to be engaged in Evangelism.

Matt 28: 18-20 - "And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, 'All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.

Mark 16: 15 - 16 - "And He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

2. We, as a congregation and individually, are to be engaged in Worship.

John 4: 23-24 - "...the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."

3. We, as a congregation and individually, are to be engaged in Benevolence.

Rom 15: 26 - "For it pleased those from Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor among the saints who are in Jerusalem."

1 Timothy 6: 17-19 - "Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life."

4. We, as a congregation and individually, are to be engaged in Edification.

1 Cor 14: 26 - "How is it then, brethen? Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification.".

What to Expect..

Many people hesitate to visit a church unless they know what it will be like when they go. Perhaps we can give you an idea...

You can expect to find a group of Christians worshipping God in the same manner as did the appostles and other Christians in the New Testament times.

  • Our Authority is the Bible Alone - Our authority in religious matters is found only in the inspired Scriptures. Therefore, we seek to be governed in organization, faith, worship and work by God's holy Word.
  • Our People are Christians Only - We have no denominational organization, name, creed or doctrine. Following the teachings of Christ and His Apostles, we are known individually as Christians, and collectively as the church of Christ.
  • Our Worship is Simple and Devout - Our worship consists only of elements which were a part of the worship in the New Testament church. You can expect to see us worship God through prayer, singing, partaking of the Lord's Supper, studying the word of God, and giving liberally of means with a joyful heart.
  • About Our Singing - Our singing is congregational and without the accompaniment of mechanical instruments. This may appear strange to the first-time visitor, but many consider this is the most inspirational part of our worship. This type of singing is used by the New Testament church (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16). We believe that following their example is pleasing to God.
  • Preaching Will Be Evangelistic - During the sermon, you may expect to hear the preacher entreat the Lord's commands, namely: BELIEVE in Christ as the Son of God (John 8:24), REPENT of your sins (Luke 13:3), CONFESS Christ (Romans 10:9-10), and be buried with Christ by BAPTISM (immersed in water) for the remission of sins, thus becoming a Christian. (Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38).
